National Historic Landmark

Shortly after its establishment in 2003, the Emily Dickinson Museum commissioned MCWB Architects to develop a master plan to guide its transformation into the premier center for Dickinson studies. This comprehensive plan examined the entire site—the Homestead, the Evergreens, and the connecting landscape—to assess existing conditions and identify key priorities. Its recommendations were extensive, addressing a range of issues and helping to define the site’s period of significance, evaluate space needs, and establish a long-term strategy for restoration and improvement of the buildings and landscape.
