The West Campus Gothics residential complex is a stunning example of Collegiate Gothic architecture, designed by the renowned firm Day and Klauder. Constructed between 1915 and 1931, the complex began with Baker Tower and concluded with Mennen Hall, resulting in ten beautifully crafted buildings. Featuring solid sandstone walls, intricate limestone trim, steel-framed leaded glass windows, and steep slate roofs, the Gothics embody both durability and timeless design.
PROJECT OVERVIEW
MCWB’s current work focuses on restoring the exterior masonry of nine of the ten buildings, as well as the network of retaining walls and exterior stairs that are essential to the character and function of the complex.
