Uris Library and McGraw Tower on the campus of Cornell University in Ithaca, NY, was designed by William Henry Miller, and completed in 1891 in the Richardsonian Romanesque style. As Cornell’s first dedicated library, the building remains one of the most historically significant structures on campus, and McGraw tower at 160 feet tall dominates the skyline as the iconic visual feature of the campus. It also has clock faces on each of the four sides and houses a carillon that has graced the campus with melodies daily for over a century.
MCWB Architects has worked closely with the University on a comprehensive assessment of the building envelope and the restoration of elements of both the Uris Library and McGraw Tower.
